So this Memorial Day weekend Eric and I decided to take a longer day and head across the Cascades and check out a desert hike in Central Washington. One location had been recommended to me by a coworker and it was short enough that I found a second hike in the same area so we planned on doing two. And then, even better, I found there was a Petrified Forest State Park on the way too so with that our itinerary was decided on!
This was a trip of epic proportions and I have a LOT of photographs, including the progression of our travel across the Cascades.
My wife, Erica and I moved to Washington state just before Thanksgiving 2010. This will serve to catalogue our adventures throughout the Pacific Northwest. Come along for the ride!

Middle Fork Snoqualmie River: Upstream
We headed back out and braved the potholed road of DOOM again for an easy 6 mile hike along the middle fork of the Snoqualmie River. I thought it was going to rain today (so did the local weathermen) but Seattle gave us the finger and provided a cloud ceiling, glimpses of sun and NO RAIN! It was a lovely hike :D

Heather Lake
Today promises to be a wet, rainy day, but we're persisting and chose what looks to be a nice hike up to a lake! There might even be snow so it'll be an adventure.
And now updating... boy oh boy was there snow....
