Our longtime friends Amy and Tom were in the area for a work function and asked if we would take them on a hike! We were very excited to show them a classic. Since we were bringing kids, and the group fitness level was not very high, I picked Twin Falls. Last time Eric and I were here, it was winter and there was snow in the air. It was nice to experience this hike in warmer weather and the kids appreciated the ability to wade in the water where it was safe.
There's lots of good adventuring boulders for the kids to clambor over under the watchful eye of adults. There's not too much to say about this hike. It undulates and slowly climbs until nearer to the falls where you start to switchback and really put on the elevation gain of the hike. It's definitely easy for kids and folks who aren't as fit. You just take your time and rest.
And of course the views are spectacular. The above photo is the peekaboo view from the first lookout point you reach.
And there were lots of good spots to get down to the river with plenty of protected pools where kids could cool off in the water. We enjoyed our brief respite here.
And then we enjoyed a great late lunch/early dinner in Snoqualmie in sight of Mt. Si!
